Dr. Johnston is the AHC Medical Director and a Family Practice provider who also specializes in Pain Management services. She founded AHC’s Skin Cancer Screening Clinic and is passionate about helping patients with the early detection and treatment of this deadly disease. She’s also a music nut who regularly waves a lighter at local blues and jazz venues.
Kristina is a Family Practice provider at AHC. She is a Certified (AANP) Family Nurse Practitioner with her Doctorate as an Advanced Practice Nurse. She is also a United States Air Force veteran who was stationed both in the U.S. as well as the United Kingdom. Kristina enjoys music, art, hiking, photography, scuba diving, and traveling on her off time.
Dr. Aaron DeGroot is a Family Practice provider at AHC. He is originally from Oregon, but has been an Arizona resident since 2001. Dr. DeGroot has a special interest in musculoskeletal medicine and enjoys helping patients with injuries and that suffer from chronic pain. He believes in a multimodality approach to decrease pain and increase quality of life for his patients. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, reading, movies, sports, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Chander received his MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He afterwards trained in internal medicine and nuclear medicine at Union Memorial Hospital and the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His passion for primary care was re-invigorated after a difficult personal experience with pain, and he remains interested in interdisciplinary care for pain, management of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, and preventive medicine. At home, his interests include spending time with family, running, golf, and meditation.
Anthony Nelson is a family practice provider at AHC.
Dr. Shah is a highly-skilled physician who is double boarded in interventional pain medicine and anesthesiology. Dr. Shah understands how pain can disrupt all aspects of daily living and is passionate about utilizing multimodal approaches to decrease pain, increase function, and overall improve quality of life. He was raised in Arizona and in his free time enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and showing his passion for all Arizona sports teams.
Dr. Dustin Doyle was born and raised near St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Doyle earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Science in 2003 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree in 2010 from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.
Dr. Doyle then completed a three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery training program at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. He was trained by a group of more than 20 podiatric surgeons and foot and ankle orthopedists in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions, with extensive training in both conservative and surgical management. He is board qualified in foot surgery and in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
After practicing in Massachusetts, Dr. Doyle recently relocated back to the Phoenix area. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, and spending time with his fiancée and their dog.
Jaime Serrano is a board-certified adult health nurse practitioner and primary care provider at AHC who especially loves helping patients with senior care and women’s health topics. When she’s not in the office caring for patients, this health and fitness enthusiast and New Jersey native enjoys exploring the great Arizona outdoors with her 3-year-old son.
Katherine is a Family Practice Provider at AHC. She joins Arrowhead Health Centers with 9 years of experience. She is passionate about serving the community, and is committed to providing quality patient care.
Originally from central Minnesota, Kendra completed her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota in 2011 before earning her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University in 2014. Kendra completed her rotations in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine as well as Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery. Kendra enjoys seeing patients of all ages both for well exams and acute indications, especially those with musculoskeletal concerns.
Dr. Vosler is a physical medicine and pain management provider at AHC. He has a passion for working with our OsteoArthritis Program participants, providing them the relief they have been seeking. Dr. Vosler is also a former Olympic diver — finishing 4th in the 1976 Summer Games in Montreal. He is also in the Ohio State University Athletic Hall of Fame.
Matthew is a Pain Management provider at AHC. He joins the team with emergency nursing background and several years of advanced practice experience in interventional pain management and multidisciplinary physical medicine & rehabilitation practices. Before joining the team at AHC, Matthew was an Executive Director and Nurse Practitioner in Beverly Hills, CA.

Robert Byrne, DC is a doctor of chiropractic and OsteoArthritis expert at Arrowhead Health Centers. His AHC roots run deep, as he discovered his love for medicine as a teenager while working as a Patient Services Specialist and Chiropractic Assistant in the original AHC office. Now, with more than 13 years of experience in the medical industry, he is passionate about helping people of all ages live long, healthy, happy lives. Dr. Byrne believes strongly that holistic healthcare and a multi-specialty approach to wellness are the most efficient ways for patients to reach their best possible health outcomes. When he’s not in the office caring for patients, you can find him hitting a few golf balls or cheering on Arizona sports teams.
Dr. Cucitrone is the Rehab Director and a chiropractor at AHC.
Dr. West is a Board Certified Internist and family practice provider at AHC. He spends a good amount of time with our Safe Skin Program detecting, treating, and preventing skin cancer. He enjoys spending his free time outdoors with his family. Their favorite activities include hiking, biking, and sailing.
Shaun is a physical therapist at AHC. He enjoys involving his patients in their care by educting them about the condition which will be treated, and the reasons for the approach he will be taking to address it. When he’s not in the office, Shaun enjoys golfing and spending time with his family. A former musician himself, Shaun also keeps up with music by playing guitar in his spare time.
Dr. Patel is a Family Practice Physician at AHC. In addition to Primary Care, she takes special interest in Pediatric care. A prior winner of the Louis Zeile Outstanding Junior Resident Award, Dr. Patel is fluent in English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Sanskrit. When she’s not helping patients, she enjoys spending time with her children, exploring nature, playing card/board games, dancing, and cooking.
Dr. Barrett is board certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is also board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Barrett is a United States Patent holder for the development of two endoscopic surgical procedures: endoscopic plantar fasciotomy (EPF) and endoscopic decompression of intermetatarsal nerve (EDIN). He has trained more than 6,000 surgeons throughout the world in these techniques, and his EPF technique is featured in Campbell’s Operative Orthopedics, which is considered a seminal textbook in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Barrett is a contributing editor for the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the editorial board of Podiatry Today, and the editorial board for Practical Pain Management.
He is considered by his peers as an expert in heel pain, and has additional focus in lower extremity peripheral nerve surgery for the management of pain syndromes and diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Barrett is active in clinical research and teaching, and performed the first diabetic peripheral nerve decompression in Barcelona, Spain at a University teaching conference on closed circuit television for 74 of Europe’s top surgeons, neurologists, and endocrinologists. He has published 29 articles in peer reviewed medical journals, authored several chapters in medical textbooks, and has also co-authored a textbook on the interpretation of Neurosensory testing. His new textbook: “Practical Pain Management for the Lower Extremity Surgeon” is due to be published in the fall of 2015.
Dr. Barrett is considered one of the world’s experts in the treatment and diagnosis of heel pain. He was the first physician to introduce minimally invasive endoscopic surgery to the foot in addition to other surgical innovations with which he is credited. He is an adjunct associate professor at Midwestern University College of Health Sciences, Podiatric Medicine Program.
He is the president of the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons, a national multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the study and surgery of peripheral nerve. Dr. Barrett received the Jules Tinel, M.D. award in 2010, which is the highest award granted by the nerve society.
He has operated in China, Spain, France, Italy, and Honduras, performing mission work there.
Terrie Pasch is a pain management provider and Certified Emergency Paramedic at AHC. With more than 25 years of experience as a multi-specialty medical provider, Terrie loves helping patients with a variety of physical and mental health conditions. She has a multifaceted approach to pain management that includes exercise, physical rehabilitation, counseling and interventional procedures. When she’s not at work, she enjoys traveling and camping with her family.
